It’s Private is structured to use performance as the entry point, and education and community engagement as the engine for deeper understanding and sustained impact. Our programming is designed to meet different audiences — artists, students, families, and community members — while remaining rooted in the same core questions.

Performances

A full-length Indian classical dance production that uses the language of marriage, intimacy, and domestic space to examine intimate partner violence in the South Asian community—inviting audiences into difficult conversations through artistry.

We partners with cultural organizations, researchers, and social service agencies to spark conversations about intimate partner violence in the South Asian community. Events may include:

Artist-led workshops drawing from the choreography and movement vocabulary of the project, offering dancers and young artists hands-on exposure to new movement ideas, narrative tools, and creative processes rooted in Indian classical forms and contemporary inquiry.
