Vignesh Ravichandran

Tamil Composition

Vignesh Ravichandran is a vocalist, composer, and writer, renowned for his versatility and expressive depth in both music and literature. Based in New Jersey, Vignesh performs Carnatic music concerts widely across North America and internationally, engaging audiences through both classical concerts and cross-genre projects. He is an active member of the NYC-based Navatman Music Collective, recognized for its collaborative, contemporary approach to South Indian classical music. He also frequently collaborates with acclaimed dancers and choreographers on multidisciplinary productions, composing and directing music, writing lyrics, and pursuing collaborations that explore musical dialogue beyond traditional boundaries. Vignesh's musical collaboration extends beyond Indian classical music, incorporating influences from Arabic, Bulgarian, and Baroque styles. He is a prime disciple of the renowned guru Pudhuvai Kalaimamani Dr. V. S. Balamurali, inheriting an illustrious musical lineage. Vignesh’s advanced training continues under the guidance of Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee Sri K. S. Vishnudev Namboothiri. He is also currently learning padams and javalis—distinguished forms of composition known for their emotive and elaborate singing—under the guidance of Smt. Subhashini Parthasarathy of the Veenai Dhanammal lineage. Vignesh holds a Master of Fine Arts (Vocal) from Annamalai University. Alongside performance, Vignesh is a published Tamil poet, best known for his collection of poetry Yen Kirukkalgal. His writing has been adapted into musical works and dance productions, and he continues to compose and write for stage projects, short films, and independent artists. An experienced music educator, he teaches students, helping learners engage with classical technique, repertoire, and performance practice.

Dr. Himanshu Srivastava

Hindi Composition

A seeker at the intersection of movement, myth, and metaphor, Dr. Himanshu Srivastava a Bharatanatyam artist, painter & a research scholar, reimagines the landscape of Indian classical arts through a contemporary lens. A multilinguist together with the power of visual arts he paints the stage and dances over his canvass through his works bridging Bharatanatyam with visual storytelling. His work weaves philosophy, sculpture, poetry, and lived experience into resonant artistic narratives. A recepient of several awards including fellowship from ministry of culture , Himanshu has been contributing to the field of dance through reasearch works & powerful scripts in Sanskrit, Hindi , braj , awadhi languages. His researches have brought to light several unseen & uncommon narratives from the rich Indian texts & epics.

Sangeetha Kowsik

Sangeetha Kowsik is a graduate of Parsons School of Design with decades of experience spanning fashion, beauty, luxury, streetwear, skateboarding, museums, and gallery-based art. Born and raised between California and New York City, she brings a deeply informed lived experience to her creative practice and interfaith work. She has led and contributed to design, creative direction, and product development for major global fashion, beauty, and luxury brands, including Estée Lauder, Tiffany & Co, Ralph Lauren amongst numerous others. She is the founder of Ihsan Ishan Design, an award-winning multidisciplinary creative studio rooted in visionary design, education, cultural and faith sensitivity. She holds the rare distinction of being the only Hindu Indian American woman formally trained in Islamic/Arabic calligraphy. She made history as the first woman of color to lead a design team at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she served as Head Product Designer and founded the institution’s first internship and mentorship program for international students and people of color. Sangeetha is the Hindu Chaplain of NYU and founder of the NYU Hindu Center. A passionate advocate for women, minorities, and LGBTQIA+ communities, she uses art and design as tools for education, healing, and understanding. Her work has earned numerous honors, including Chaplain of the Year (presented by Chelsea Clinton), the Rise & Recognize Award in Service from Embrace the Change, and seven awards for her Black Lives Matter design, including the prestigious Mozaik Philanthropy Award. Through her practice, Sangeetha is committed to advancing compassion, education, and understanding through design.
